Civil Ceremony Looks We Love

1. Rachel’s Sleek Gown

Rachel exuded refined sophistication for their legal ceremony at Belfast Town Hall. Initially she wanted an silk gown with sleeves and a low back but then she came across the Dion stretch-duchesse satin dress by Halfpenny London and she knew it was ‘the one’ that she could elevate with the right accessories. While the bride-to-be was pressed for time she sourced it on The Outnet in her size and ‘ready to wear’. She had it shipped to her within three days and she took it straight to the seamstress where it was altered to fit her body like a glove and so that the hem landed just above her shoes while maintaining the train behind.

She wore white Prada leather slingbacks to match the true white shade of the gown and her ‘something blue’ were the little flower hairclips that her hairdresser put into her sleek updo during the appointment on the morning of the ceremony. Her accessories also included floral earrings and the iridescent ivory Petal Bag by Clio Peppiatt which she rented from ByRotation. She fell for a chunky pearl choker by Bronx and Banco and it was sold out but that didn’t stop her as she found an alternative on Etsy from a local small business owner which complemented the look exquisitely.

2. Rosie’s Beautiful Blazer Dress

Rosie embraced the ‘something borrowed’ tradition throughout her entire wedding wardrobe. To legally tie the knot in London, she wore a sophisticated button-down dress by Odd Muse which was borrowed from a friend. Her pal had bought it for the races and once she posted it online, Rosie knew it was perfect for their civil ceremony in London city. She accessorised with a taupe Polène bag which her sister-in-law very kindly allowed her to borrow, bow heels from Shein and a bouquet of creamy white roses that was picked up in Covent Garden that morning.

She was a vision of grace in her ivory satin Willow Dress with a dreamy soft tulle underskirt which she accessorised with ivory slingbacks with sparkling brooches, pearl drop earrings and a matching neck scarf.

4. Tess’s Contemporary Co-Ord

Tess wanted a “city bride” registry office look with a New York slant. Her Dublin civil ceremony outfit was cool, a little unexpected, but still polished and formal. Her ensemble was thoughtfully curated over several years, led by her sculptural three-piece suit by the Australian designer Mariam Seddiq who specialises in maximalist artistic pieces for modern brides who want to break the mould. She first spotted a presenter at a Formula 1 event in Melbourne wearing it about a year before their ceremony and she instantly bookmarked it in her mind.

Having always been obsessed with Carrie Bradshaw, wearing the iconic Hangisi satin pumps by Manolo Blahnik was a non-negotiable, that had been decided years ago! She sourced her birdcage veil on Etsy and her Simone Rocha egg bag with a faux pearl strap, which had been on her shopping wish-list for ages, was the chicest finishing touch.
