Love, style and joy in the city! Belfast-based couple Aleisha and Jet celebrated their love their way by breaking their wedding up into two parts. They tied the knot in an immensely intimate ceremony in Edinburgh with 14 of their closest family and friends which they followed up with a stunning reception at The Merchant in Belfast where they were joined by 110 of their loved ones.
Get your Pinterest board at the ready for the sensationally chic style with the brides wearing *incredible* jumpsuits. They contrasted their sleek style with decor bursting with bright and bold colour with table settings including a sweet fruity twist. With oodles of candlelight and seriously scrumptious cakes too, prepare to marvel over the details with beautiful photos from Kate Donaldson.

Aleisha is from Northern Ireland and Jet is from Edinburgh. Their love story began 12 years ago when they met in Edinburgh while Aleisha was attending university there. “We met in a bar, Jet’s ex boss was being a pest and we got chatting about how much of a creep he was!”

There were two beautiful proposals and Jet popped the question first in Edinburgh, what a gorgeous full-circle moment. Aleisha had absolutely no idea it was coming, “She was so nervous and ended up blurting it out in our hotel room. We did have a lovely view of the snowy Christmas markets in Princes Street Gardens! I also proposed but was much more low key and at the top of the stairs in our old house.”

The couple tied the knot at the Edinburgh City Chambers and the celebration had real “city vibes” they tell us. They travelled in stunning style on the day as they drove around the city in an old Cadillac and visited their old haunts.

They had originally planned a very different celebration with a bigger venue but they changed their mind as they wanted to prioritise what was important to them. “We wanted to feel at ease during the ceremony and that’s why we stripped it right back to the intimate affair! It felt even more special for us, and then when it came to the reception we were pretty much care-free and could just enjoy it!”

Aleisha and Jet loved the fact that they could split their wedding into two parts. “We were able to feel close to both our homes and the places we met vs where we live now. Sadly Jet’s Dad has passed away so having our ceremony in Edinburgh just helped her feel close to him and like he was still a part of the day! We were able to visit his grave the morning after the wedding and leave his corsage there.”

Aleisha exuded effortless elegance for the reception in Belfast wearing a tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit by Nadine Merabi which featured a structured lapel, a corseted bodice, and wide-leg tailored trousers. She accessorised with bow Charlotte Mills heels, delicate pearl jewellery by Grace & Kin and an uber-pretty hair bow.

Jet wowed in a Halfpenny London jumpsuit with an illusion bodice and train adorned with 3D blooms. She styled her look superbly with accessories from Lines and Current and Rainbow Club heels.

What did we tell you? The brides wore jaw-droppingly chic jumpsuits!

They wanted their summer celebration in the city to feel very laid-back and chill. “We just wanted everyone to have a real party,” they reminisce.

Located in Belfast’s historic Cathedral Quarter, the luxurious The Merchant hotel was the perfect location to celebrate with all their cherished people. “It is just so classic, we found the staff amazing and knew we’d be in safe hands!”

Bridesmaids in black, we’re in love. Their bridesmaids wore one-shoulder satin dresses by TFNC. Spot the epic red Adidas bridal shoes!

Their reception styling was all about bright and bold colours which popped magically in the immensely elegant setting. We have real-life heart eyes for their fringed sign which proudly declared them as The Moores.

The table styling included colourful taper candles and contemporary floral arrangements by Wilde boasting anthurium, corkscrew rush, dahlia, and tea roses. Fruit brought a twist of added zest and playful texture.

Their scrumptious cakes by Fjord Bakery surrounded by blooms that were bursting with vibrancy, what a stunning sight…

They have a wonderful piece of wedding advice for couples to keep in mind when it comes to planning. “Plan a day that you would actually like to attend as a guest! Don’t do anything to please anyone else and stick to your guns!”

For their first dance, the brides swayed to I’ll Be by Your Side by Patrick Droney.

Later Aleisha swapped her chic jumpsuit for a flowing off-the-shoulder gown by SJP Bridal. So elegant!

The newlyweds enjoyed a romantic trip through rural Tuscany for their honeymoon. “It was amazing! Amazing food and wine.”
