With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, a spooky February 13th in the mix, as well as Chinese New Year celebrations about to kick off (goodbye snake, hello horse!), there’s an extra special date night twist to February this year – and we are so here for it! If you haven’t booked anything yet there are loads of things going on in Dublin and elsewhere this weekend. Here are some last minute ideas…

1. Van Gogh Date Night at Dream Point
February is the month of love, and if you haven’t enjoyed a starry, starry night together at Dream Point Van Gogh in Dublin yet, rejoice, because their super popular After Dark gallery experience themed Fridays are now running weekly through the month of February and right up until March 20th. Adult tickets are from €20.90. Booking details are here.

2. A weekend away at the Park Hotel Kenmare
Whether it’s a weekend just for the two of you, or a special break with your mum or pals, we are all big fans of a spa break here at One Fab Day. This Valentine’s season, the five-star Park Hotel Kenmare are offering what looks like a very enticing package for two, which includes a stay in one of the hotel’s newly renovated rooms, with breakfast served to your room the following morning, along with a 2pm late checkout. On arrival, they’re including a bottle of sparkling wine and homemade sweet treats, before a 60-minute couples massage, with dinner that evening featuring some special dishes perfect for sharing. Valentine’s at Park Hotel Kenmare starts from €825 for 2 people sharing.
3. Ring Making Workshops at Silverworks
Getting together with friends or loved ones to do any sort of creative activity always feels like a wholesome way to catch up, and Valentines/Galentines is a great excuse for some pre and post wedding event bonding. For something very special and memorable, we love the look of the jewellery making workshops at Silverworks . Choose from making a personalised pendant to creating claddagh ring, stacked rings, gemstone setting or even your own wedding rings. Prices start at €85.

4. Enjoy a theatre night at The Gate
Running at The Gate Theatre in Dublin, from 6th February to 7th March, is Eureka Day, a smartly observed comedy set within a close-knit school community, exploring big questions around belonging, belief and modern values. The Croke Park hotel (nearby) are running A Night at The Gate: Eureka Day experiences which are available on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the run. With a package that includes tickets to the show as well as an overnight stay for two, with a three-course pre-theatre dinner, the experience starts from €314 and is available for stays up until Saturday 7th March. For more information or to book, see The Croke Park Hotel website.
5. Take a tour of the Michelin Star Chef Sessions
Foodie couples are going to love the fact that the Michelin Awards have arrived in Dublin this week (10th February, 2026), which is offering the opportunity for some of the city’s best restaurants to converge for a lively, walkable programme of pop-ups and collaborations. From chicken in a basket at Rei Momo and hot dogs for a tenner at Franks Wine bar to breakfast muffins, toasties, spice bags and discoed Chinese at Hang Dei, all of the venues are within easy reach of each other, helping create a loose, festival-style trail for chefs, media and food lovers to dip in and out of across the weekend. They’re naming it ‘Chef Sessions’ but each venue will be managing their own ticketing and booking. Yum!
6. Go Star Spotting in Kerry
For a truly unforgettable Valentine’s date night, why not trade the usual dinner and movies for a night under the stars? Kerry Dark Sky Tourism offers guided stargazing experiences in some of Ireland’s most breathtaking landscapes, where couples can marvel at the cosmos together. With expert guides, telescopes, and unobstructed views of the night sky, it is the perfect way to add a touch of magic and wonder to your romantic evening and create a date they will remember for a lifetime.

7. Have a movie night to see Wuthering Heights
“Whatever our souls are made out of, his and mine are the same.” And if you are a Gothic romance novel fan you will of course recognise this as one of most famous of all Wuthering Heights quotes. Dying to see the movie and whether all the red carpet hype has been worth it? It’s being released on February 13th and we reckon there will be lots of canoodling couples in attendance at screenings throughout the nation. Where to see it is important though, and at The Stella in Rathmines, Dublin, they are leaning fully into a Valentine’s romance movie line-up throughout February, with Wuthering Heights showing alongside rom com favourites such as When Harry Met Sally, The Notebook and La La Land.

8. Indulge in gourmet food and wine tasting in Meath
On the subject of great Valentines weekend date nights – or just lovely things to do with your other half at any time of year – we love the look of the Boyne Valley tasting dinner at The Station House Hotel on the 14th February. The seven-course tasting menu by Head Chef Gordon and his team will feature premium ingredients including cured meats from “The Wooded Pig”, local meats and fish and homegrown veg from Swainstown farm and Boyne Valley Cheeses. The Boyne Valley Tasting Dinner costs €90 per person to include a welcome seasonal cocktail (€140 to include wine pairing), or guests can make a night of it from €215 per person sharing (without wine pairing, €50 pp extra to include wine pairing). This includes tea/coffee and homemade scones on arrival, the tasting dinner starting with a seasonal cocktail, and an overnight stay with breakfast the following morning. For more book here.
9. Get tickets for a candlelit concert
The renowned Candlelight Concerts are bringing a night of romantic music and enchanting lighting to The Grand Hall in Ballsbridge on Saturday 14th. The theme is a tribute to U2, so think ‘All I want is You’, ‘Sweetest Thing’ and ‘One’ under the glow of candlelight and amidst stunning neo-Gothic architecture.

10. Grab your pals for a night of make-up and goodie bags…
Friday 13th and looking for some pre-Valentines fun with your crew?
