A Softly Elegant Virginia Park Lodge Wedding

A Softly Elegant Virginia Park Lodge Wedding

Today’s real wedding was an enchanting fairytale of timeless style. Jessie and Colin tied the knot at the storybook pretty Virginia Park Lodge in Co. Cavan and their celebration had the dreamiest clean and airy aesthetic. With a soft palette featuring gentle pale pink and lush eucalyptus driving the styling, this is your cue to get your Pinterest board at the ready. From the stationery to the flowers and the cake, the bride brought their dream day to life with the utmost style.

We also know your jaw will drop when you her bespoke wedding dress adorned with 3D blooms. With bridesmaids in snowy white shades and elegant groomswear by Louis Copeland & Sons, the style exuded effortless sophistication. With a breathtaking soundtrack provided by Naomi Laide Music the couple held their ceremony in the sumptuous drawing room before they celebrated the night away in a candlelit reception, believe us when we say so much absolutely gorgeous inspiration awaits. Very lucky for us, Selina O’Meara Photography documented all the dreaminess, enjoy!

Sparks flew instantly between Jessie and Colin when they met on a dating app. They reminisce, “We instantly hit it off. We could tell straight away that it was the start of something special.  We have lots in common, similar interests, hobbies, both career driven but also very family orientated. Both of us hit it off straight away with each other’s families and friends, and the rest is history!”

Colin proposed on a cosy January night in during storm Eowyn! Jessie tells us, “He had asked my dad for my hand in marriage two weeks previously, and dad somehow managed to keep it all under wraps. We had previously discussed proposals and rings, so Colin knew that I would love the idea of a low key and private proposal. I was in my pyjamas cooking dinner for us, when I left a tap on my right-hand shoulder. Colin was down on one knee. It was perfect and so us.”

Colin proposed with a promise ring and Jessie’s bespoke engagement ring was made by ESL Jewellery in Dublin. “They brought my dream ring to life and were amazing to work with. We then got planning the wedding straight away because we knew we wanted to get married in 2025.”

The most important thing for the couple was that their families and guests had the best time during their celebration. “We knew that if we were enjoying ourselves and chilled out, that everyone else would enjoy the day so much more. So, we made our priority to be totally ourselves, happy and relaxed from start to finish.”

Jessie is a nurse who owns her own aesthetic clinic so she was the mastermind behind her six-month wedding skin prep for her glow-from-within radiance. Her hair was done by Karen from The Hive Salon- who has been her hair dresser and close friend for many years. “I wouldn’t have had any else do my hair for my wedding day. Makeup artist Adrianna Dry was a dream to work with; she made me feel so confident and just like a glowing version of myself.”

From the moment she began imagining their dream day, Jessie knew she wanted a beautifully clean and airy aesthetic with a palette of soft whites, elegant ivories and the gentlest shades of pale pink. “That vision became the thread that tied everything together.”

Naomi Laide performed their ceremony and reception music so beautifully with the bride making her entrance to What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. “It was perfect. As a surprise, my sister picked back up her flute after a long break, and she learnt to play Cannon in D alongside Kevy the wonderful guitarist. It was one of the handful of times of the day that I had to try really hard to keep it together. The thoughtfulness of it all was just extremely special.”

The flowers brimmed with classic elegance and while the bouquets and boutonnières were curated by Flowers & Friends in Blackrock the bride designed the rest of the displays herself. “I bought silk flowers from a shop in Belfast, and some online too and I taught myself how to make all different kinds of flower arrangements. It was so fun as I love all things creative.”

The couple viewed venues all over Ireland and once they arrived at the picturesque Virginia Park Lodge they fell head over heels. “From the beginning they were amazing. Everything was communicated so well, and right up to walking down the aisle, they made us both feel so calm and we knew everything was under control. It was a magical day from start to finish, and the understood our vision exactly.”

Clean, crisp shades of white never go out of style for bridesmaids as Jessie’s leading ladies prove. “The bridesmaids, and even the MOB and MOG, chose outfits that made them feel genuinely amazing, each staying within the soft palette while still expressing their own style.”

Jessie’s breathtaking bespoke wedding dress was created by Sarah Foy. “I knew exactly what I wanted but she helped me bring it to life perfectly. The flowers on my dress were key, so my mum and I sourced them from Neptune furniture shop in Powerscourt. The whole process was so fun, and it made the build up so exciting. When I collected my dress two weeks before the wedding, it was so emotional trying it on and seeing my vision come to life. Sarah is an extremely talented artist.”

Fresh eucalyptus was central to the styling and candles were dotted everywhere. “The scent of the eucalyptus wrapped everything in a calm, natural freshness that perfectly complimented the pale colours. candles lighting everywhere! The whole atmosphere felt serene, romantic and beautifully cohesive, exactly what I had hoped for.”

Jessie creates scrumptious cakes herself and she did the honours when it came to their special day. “It was a two layered chocolate biscuit cake, with the help of Colin,” she shares.

Their happiest day was made all the more sweet as they were joined by Jessie’s gorgeous family dog Tommy. “As a lively cocker spaniel, we honestly weren’t sure how he’d react to the music, the people and all the excitement, but he absolutely played a blinder. He walked up the aisle seamlessly with my sister, looking so thrilled with himself!”

“The day couldn’t have gone any better, the bride reflects. “Virginia Park went above and beyond to make sure both of us and all of our family and guests had everything they needed and more.”

Colin was as dapper as could be in a classic tux from Louis Copeland & Sons. Exquisite!

Their candlelit reception was packed with unforgettable moments from immensely heartfelt speeches to the couple’s romantic first dance.

Congratulations Jessie and Colin! The biggest thank you to our lovely couple for letting us take a peek inside their magical Virginia Park Lodge wedding and to Selina O’Meara for capturing their joyous day so beautifully.
