Bridal Hair Trends Straight From The Oscars Red Carpet

There are lots of places to look for celebrity bridal hair inspiration, but more chic, timeless looks walk the Oscars red carpet every year, so it’s worth watching. This year’s ceremony in Los Angeles didn’t disappoint. There was one great hairstyle after another, and something for every bride to consider before her big day. From waves and curls to cropped bixies and bobs, the Oscars and the afterparty proved that the current swathe of A-listers have their finger on the pulse of spring’s hottest bridal hair trends. To break down the trends that will dominate 2026, we spoke to beauty expert Annabelle Taurua, who tells us three hairstyles will be everywhere in the months to come.

Bridal Hair Trends – Romantic Waves

Annabelle says the 2026 Oscars provided plenty of inspiration for classic bridal hair looks. ‘The 2026 Oscars saw a variety of styles and textured cuts, ranging from bixies to wavy pixie cuts and bedhead mullets, and looking at search trends, it looks like celebrities are already ahead of the curve.’ The top trend for brides this year is Romantic Waves, and searches are up 800% YoY, a look very well displayed by Kate Hudson at the Oscars.

Annabelle says, ‘Romantic waves are currently dominating 2026, undoubtedly led by Margot Robbie’s hair styling in Wuthering Heights, which has been a staple among celebs at this year’s Oscars. Odessa A’zion’s famous waves were out to play for the evening, her natural spirals adding a gothic theme to the trend. Bella Thorne also jumped on the wave trend, adding a moody Brontë style. This celebrity-loved style is so easy to try at home; all you need is a curling iron and some textured spray, and focus on soft waves that give an effortless, feminine aesthetic.’

Soft Bixie

Searches for a Soft Bixie are up 600% year on year, and it is a trending bridal hair look. Annabelle explains the look. ‘If the bob and the pixie had a child, it would be the bixie. The bixie was very popular in 2025 and resembles a grown-out pixie that is not quite a bob or a pixie, with enough length to frame the face.’

‘For its 2026 Oscars comeback, Gracie Abrams flaunted an ultra-short bixie with a more “soft” take, focusing more on a gentle, less structured look. Gracie’s current style has been the rage since she stepped out at Paris Fashion Week, and we expect to see a revival of the wispy, face-framing bixie this spring.’ Jessie Buckley and Zendaya are also loving the Soft Bixie, and it’s a versatile cut for short hair.

Soft Bob

The bob never goes out of style: it simply changes shape a little or becomes a trend at different lengths. We saw a few at the Oscars and the afterparty, most notably on Hailey Bieber, Karol G, and Emma Stone. Annabelle says the Soft Bob will be one of the top bridal hair trends of the year, and searches for the look are up 326% this year.

She says, ‘The soft bob is a 2026 hair trend we can expect to see more of in the coming months, especially with its dominance at the Oscars. Emma Stone sported a soft swing bob with a Bridgerton vibe, looking shiny, healthy, and bouncy. This cut feels light and effortless to style. The soft bob is a shoulder-length cut with wispy layers blended throughout and feathered ends to add texture and playful movement, perfect for spring.’
