Today’s real wedding is a lavishly stylish sight to behold. US couple Lizette and Andrew dreamt of a fairytale European castle celebration where they could share every magical moment with their loved ones. The beauty that unfolded at their Cavan nuptials will leave you enthralled.
It was a majestic dichotomy between the modern romantic style and the ancient charm of Cabra Castle, their guests dressed in all black and the dream-like quality of baby’s breath. With masterful styling from Elevate Weddings & Events and wonderful photos from Nerijus of K Photography, prepare to do plenty of double-taking because the details are as dreamy as can be.
Before we learn all about their big day we need to find out how their happily ever after began. Andrew is from Boston while Lizette is from Los Angeles. It was a modern-day romance as they met on the dating app Hinge in August 2021.
Andrew whipped up a highly romantic rouse when it came to proposing. Lizette tells us, “My proposal was the most elaborate and thoughtful experience. I was ‘hired’ to work a photoshoot only to find out it was my own. He rented a Cinderella costume and had a full fairytale photoshoot at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. We were picked up in a Rolls-Royce and taken to a castle house where our friends were waiting.”
Ireland is home to many bewitching castle wedding venues and the couple viewed several before they found ‘the one’. “We visited four other castles but we found Cabra Castle was the most authentic and our guests could stay there.”
The grooms party nailed mix and match suiting. Andrew opted for a tux with a cream jacket while his grooms men incorporated velvet and tweed in their looks.
We love Lizette’s bridal robe which had a dreamy train, it was a preview of the epically enchanting nature of her wedding dress.
We were blown away by Lizette’s bridal look as she wore a corset-style Kim Kassas Couture gown with floral embroidery, delicate ruched sleeves that were detachable and a voluminous overskirt. Her floral lace-trimmed veil only elevated the stunning impact and she accessorised with diamond drop earrings.
Their ceremony in the contemporary Granary was a floral fantasy with a bloom-bedecked ceiling and bursts of delicate baby’s breath brought an ethereal air along the aisle which was also styled with candles in glass vases.
It wasn’t only the groomsmen who did a magnificent job at mix and matching their style, the bridal party looked splendid too with their outfits blending fabrics like lustrous satin and floral appliqued tulle along with prints such as moody floral and chic plaids.
When it came to their ceremony, their vow exchange is one of their most treasured moments. “Our vows were pretty great. Not a dry eye in the house. And we both did a joke.”
Elevate Weddings & Events brought their wedding day dreams to life and the couple marked their ceremony exit in magical style with a fog machine enveloping the floor in a cloud-like haze. We know you’ll agree, the results were out-of-this-world gorgeous!
65 of their nearest and dearest joined them and they could feel the love in every moment. “Having our friends and family in a castle in Ireland was a very surreal and amazing feeling. It’s definitely the most special part.”
Guests were greeted by a statement floral arch at the entrance to the castle and as for the overall vibe of the celebration, the couple say, “We wanted everyone to know what it felt like to be in our relationship and our love.” It was a day with “love, fashion, food and experience.”
We wanted to know what their best piece of advice would be to help couples get the most out of their wedding day. They recommend, “Stay together. Move around as a unit. It’s the first day of you two as one.”
We’ve no doubt Andrew and Lizette felt like a king and queen during their reception in the ballroom. Exuding old-world charm, the space boasts gilded mirrors, Waterford Crystal chandeliers and wooden thrones for the bride and groom.
There was an undeniably romantic glow with foliage laced with fairy lights snaking the walls and tall brass candlesticks adorned with flowers.
They were walking on air all day and dancing on clouds by night. Their friends Tom and Marley made their first dance even more memorable with their rousing performance of their favorite song A Whole New World.
They had thrilling entertainment organised too which included a mariachi band and an Irish dancing troop while Sax On Fire served up all the hits ensuring the dancefloor was the hottest destination all night.
The newlyweds dialled up the lavish factor even further with their champagne tower which was styled with baby’s breath and roses.
A huge thank you to Lizette, Andrew and K Photography for sharing this phenomenal castle wedding with One Fab Day.
