As Horetown House is a family-run wedding venue, they look after every wedding personally and only host 30 weddings each year with just one wedding taking place a week, to ensure that you and your guests get all the support you need. This also allows the dedicated team to grow the flowers and vegetables for each wedding – how wonderful is that? To allow you to really relax into the festivities, couples can choose to stay for 2 to 3 nights for pre-wedding prep or post wedding celebrations.
The Space At Horetown House
From the surrounding meadows to the divine Garden Room, right up to the cellar pub, there’s a space at Horetown House to suit every part of your big day:
- An ideal space for civil ceremonies, the White Room boasts wooden benches that seat up to 140 guests. It’s flooded with natural light and the ceiling is decorated with soft fabric and festoon lights. This room is also an ideal dining space for small weddings.
- For your drinks reception, the team will greet your guests with Prosecco and freshly-prepared canapés and guide them to a cosy spot in the Drawing rooms or Tea room.
- Horetown House’s 10 acres of wildflower and grass meadows, cutting gardens and walled gardens provide gorgeous backdrops for wedding portraits and, if the weather obliges, an outdoor ceremony.
- For your reception, the stunning Garden Room caters for 25 to 200 guests. An indoor pole tent featuring solid walls and a slate roof, it’s a really high-end space with a fresh contemporary look, boasting a full bar, wheelchair accessible bathrooms, heating, air conditioning and a built-in sound system.
- The original cellar of Horetown House has been converted into a traditional Irish pub, perfect for continuing the party into the early hours of the morning! As the venue holds a full hotel license, all guests can be hosted here after the band finishes playing. With an extensive range of top-shelf whiskeys and gins, and all the usual draught and shorts, the 1692 bar is known for serving a great pint of Guinness as well as its special dressed gin cocktail.

Sustainability really is at the heart of the food offering at Horetown House. Flowers, herbs and vegetables are grown on site, so your wedding menu will be a delectably seasonal affair! The Chef works closely with local suppliers to bring you fresh, seasonal dishes, so Horetown House can continue to deliver a luxury service, while reducing the environmental impact of its weddings wherever possible.
Planet-Friendly Weddings at Horetown House
Working hard to reduce single-use items in the house and gardens, Horetown House have made huge sustainability efforts from moving to zero-waste wines in reusable casks, with organic white and red options, to using fair trade coffee by Moyee. There are also more plant-based options and the BBQ menus have been updated to keep food waste to an absolute minimum. Combining luxury and sustainability, cut flowers grown in the magnificent Horetown House gardens are used and dried for decoration in the elegant ceremony and reception spaces.
The Accommodation At Horetown House
Horetown House boasts all the advantages of a private house and none of the disadvantages of a hotel – your guests will enjoy private use of the house, which sleeps up to 24 adults in the luxurious bedrooms and 40 more in the village of super comfortable Shepherds Huts. Either way, your guests will be in the lap of luxury!
For other guests staying in local B&Bs and self-catering houses in the area, the Horetown House shuttle bus service will see them all safely home. But of course, it’s only right that the couple get the best room in the house and you’ll be glad to know that the beautiful Bridal Suite has just been given a wonderful refurbishment, making it the perfect spot for wedding portraits as you prep.

Wedding planning and coordination, décor and styling is included in the house hire fee, and divine wildflowers from the gardens will be displayed throughout the house, along with centrepieces and flowers for each table.
