Sara & Andy’s Tankardstown House Wedding

Sara & Andy’s Tankardstown House Wedding

This Irish real wedding is a monochromatic dream. Sara and Andy said yes to forever at Tankardstown House in Co. Meath with a celebration which exuded elegance at every turn. The couple wanted their wedding to be “one big party” that brought all their favourite people together. With a vibe that was relaxed and not too formal, ensuring their 125 guests had a wonderful time was their top priority and laughter filled the air from start to finish.

Prepare for incredibly chic and contemporary bridal style (including two fabulous dresses), brilliant black-tie inspiration for grooms, delicate-yet-dramatic baby’s breath floral arrangements, bridesmaids in neutral shades, minimalistic signage, a breathtaking outdoor photoshoot, refined yet sophisticated reception styling and more. We actually can’t wait for you to see the stunning images from Ivana Patarcic Photography below.

So let’s get to know today’s lovely real wedding couple more. Sara and Andy are both from Dublin and they met through mutual friends 10 years ago. They first crossed paths on Halloween night, where they tell us they were “dressed as eejits!”.

Reflecting on popping the question, Andy explains that he originally intended to propose to Sara in London but she had invited her friends to every meal and activity he had planned! “The trip thankfully got cancelled (phew). We got engaged on the night of our anniversary, looking over Dublin from a suite in a lovely hotel. It was perfect.”

Absolutely timeless black-tie style from the grooms party. Debonair groom Andy wore a slick black tuxedo from Louis Copeland & Sons with Russell & Bromley brogues.

Wow, wow, wow, we just adore Sara’s wedding day look which included a draped off-the-shoulder gown by Georgia Young Couture from The One in Rathmines. She accessorised with classic court heels by Russell & Bromley, a dreamy cathedral veil and pearl and gold petal drop earrings by A.B. Ellie.

Baby’s breath formed the foundation of the ceremony styling as there were clouds on plinths, dotted along the aisle and suspended from the ceiling. The ceremony was very much a family affair as Sara’s brother walked her down the aisle and Andy’s sister acted as their celebrant.

As for their wedding aesthetic, they share, “Glam was the theme and everyone delivered.” We absolutely concur! The couple sourced their beautiful wedding bands at Commins & Co..

They tied the knot on a crisp October’s day dappled with gentle sunlight which brought their wedding photos to a whole new level of gorgeous.

The couple knew instantly that they had found their dream wedding venue at Tankardstown House. The luxurious country house was the only venue they visited, “We didn’t need to see anywhere else and cancelled our other viewings. It was perfect!”

Their wedding day was packed with countless unforgettable moments but a highlight for Sara and Andy was reading the heartfelt letters they had penned to each other before their ceremony.

Neutral bridesmaids dresses are perfect for all seasons and Sara’s ladies looked exquisite in mixed and matched gowns from Maids to Measure.

As for advice for other couples celebrating their big day, they recommend, “Don’t get too stressed out and hung up on the little bits. Everything comes together in the end!” When it came to their honeymoon the couple jetted off to Mexico for an incredible month-long adventure which “was the best trip ever.”

From the minimalistic signage to the tablescape styling with gilded accents and romantic baby’s breath centrepieces, if you’re dreaming of a sophisticated yet refined reception get your Pinterest board ready.

Sara enchanted with her after-party outfit which comprised of a lustrous bandeau short wedding dress which she styled with a satin bridal hair bow which was personalised with her initials and their wedding date.

As for their first dance, they reflect, “We had a song picked and for some reason thought we could cram in the practice, last minute. We clearly couldn’t dance and scrapped the whole thing.” Andy had a sweet surprise up his sleeve for his bride as he had the band perform Sarah by Thin Lizzy and they danced together. “It was one of our favourite moments,” they remark.

A huge congratulations to Sara and Andy on their elegant Tankardstown House wedding. A special thank you to Ivana Patarcic Photography for the beautiful imagery. If you want more timeless wedding inspiration check out even more pictures from their big day in the gallery below.
