At once lauded for its melodic, synth-pop sound, the lyrics explore themes of devotion, vulnerability, and unconditional love and it’s tender message is about unconditional love, deep devotion, and overcoming difficulties in a relationship, often interpreted as a promise to always be there for someone. It was later covered by many artists, including Miles Davis.
