Hillary Clinton

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding in 2010 was a multi-million dollar affair and for the occasion, Hillary wore an eye-catching pink ombré gown with 3D floral embellishment by Oscar de la Renta, a long-time friend of hers. It was certainly a departure from her more demure Washington looks and it was nice to see her having fun with her mother of the bride look.

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham was just 48 years old when she became a mother of the groom, when her son Brooklyn married Nicola Peltz. Choosing a dress from her own collection she shone in a Studio 54-inspired slip made from liqiud-like-metallic silk. Slinky, sophisticated and glamourous – we would expect nothing less.

Doria Ragland

All eyes were on Meghan Markle’s mum Doria Ragland during her wedding to Prince Harry back in 2018, and not just because she was arriving from the US solo as her ex husband Thomas Markle didn’t make it on the day. Doria cut a poised and elegant figure in a pistachio green shift dress and smart fitted coat with white floral motifs by Oscar de la Renta.

Jill Biden

Technically Jill Biden was grandmother of the bride when she stepped out for Naomi Biden’s wedding in 2022, but we’ll allow it. The granddaughter of President Joe Biden got married in Novemeber, so the First Lady sensibly wrapped up in a perfectly tailored teal coat over a silk chiffon dress by Reem Acra for the outdoor ceremony. She continued the monochromatic trend with coordinating gloves.
