So many couples have told us, “We arrived at Cloughjordan House for our viewing, and instantly knew it was ‘The One’!” So what is it that makes this 800-year-old country house in Tipperary so special? If we had to pick the top three things (and that’s not easy, because there are so many!) – it would be the setting, the staff, and the sustainably-sourced food!
Cloughjordan House is a private, self-sustained, family-run wedding venue with a firm focus on genuine hospitality, and capacity to host 60 guests midweek, and larger gatherings of 180. There’s a lot to love about Cloughjordan House, so if you are looking for a magical wedding location to put on your to-visit list, allow us to tell you about this one-of-a-kind venue that will feel like home…

Its location in Tipperary, at the centre of Ireland, makes it easily accessible for your guests, wherever they’re travelling from. This is why the venue is popular with couples from the US having a midweek wedding. It’s easy to get to from any airport, and as it is exclusive hire with tonnes of great accomodation options giving it a home-from-home feel (more on that below!) it couldn’t be easier for friends and family travelling from overseas.
The Space at Cloughjordan House
One of the things we love most about Cloughjordan House is just how versatile the venue is – you really can make this place your own! From the wild forest to the rustic woodshed, right up to the stunning ballroom, there’s a space to suit all tastes.
- The 17th Century Ballroom is perfect for ceremonies, dancing, or anything you can think of. With high ceilings, sash windows and a roaring fire, it’s an atmospheric setting in which to party the night away.
- The venue’s sweeping lawn, gorgeous woodland area, or rustic woodshed are also ideal for ceremonies.
- For church ceremonies, you can tie the knot locally in Cloughjordan Village, with the reception waiting for you and your guests at the House.
- After your ceremony, guests can enjoy cocktails and canapés in the garden with lawn games, or, indoors, in the House’s beautiful sitting rooms.
- The Garden Marquee is perfect for your wedding feast, and after the meal you can move through the double doors into the ballroom to get the party started.
The Food at Cloughjordan House Weddings
Locally-sourced and self-sustained food is at the heart of the offering at Cloughjordan House – any venue that puts an emphasis on terrific food is a total winner to us! And with a cookery school on site, you know you’re getting something extra special. The walled garden provides all the fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers used on the big day, and the team works with local food producers in the community to source what they can’t grow themselves.
Cloughjordan House is very much rooted in the unique community around it, who play a role in every plate served. Couples can work with the passionate team of chefs to create a bespoke menu from a delicious selection of sharing platters, family-style dishes and beautiful wines. Your guests will still be raving about their meal for years to come!
