Get ready for a destination wedding with serious class. Real wedding couple Keia and Michael‘s big day oozed refined elegance. They tied the knot at a magical riverside venue Elle by Stella in Ontorio in a sun-soaked garden ceremony in front of a gorgeous waterfall fixture. Sounds so immensely dreamy, right? Keia exuded elegance with her wedding day look which included a wedding dress with a scene-stealer bow and an iconic pair of wedding heels. From the bridesmaids who looked wonderful in bright blue satin to the sweet white and azure blooms and the oceanic hues that popped from the tablescape setting, the prettiest pops of something blue shone bright. F10 Studio captured the magic of their summer wedding, cue the swooning…

So, we’ll kick off with our wonderful couple’s love story. Michael is from Nigeria while Keia, who has a Bajan and American background, is from Canada. They met online and sparks flew instantly. They tell us: “We met on Instagram through a mutual friend. Our friend posted Keia on their Instagram story and Michael was interested. Michael DM’d Keia and the rest is history.”

Michael had a surprise up his sleeve when it came to proposing to Keia. “Michael surprised Keia the day before her birthday by telling her he was taking her out for dinner.” Today the couple live in Canada together.

When it came to her dream wedding day, Keia had always dreamt of tying the knot with a garden ceremony. Michael’s favourite colour is blue (talk about a perfect wedding day hue) and they found so many sweet ways to incorporate the shade into their celebrations.

They tied the knot on June 2nd, 2023, and with 100 guests joining them their big day had an intimate vibe. Celebrating their union and the exciting new chapter of their lives with their closest friends and family was their number-one priority when it came to their wedding planning.

Their wedding venue, Elle by Stella, was actually very close to home. Nestled in the Conestogo riverside with sprawling, picturesque gardens it is a very glamorous wedding venue to tie the knot, especially if you want an outdoor ceremony that will leave your guests enchanted.

“Our venue is in a town close to the city Keia grew up in and it provided the space for an intimate, garden ceremony that was far away enough from the hustle and bustle of the city.” Keia was a picture of timeless elegance in her fit and flare ballgown with a sophisticated ruched bodice and a statement bow on the back of the skirt.

She accessorised with pearl drop earrings, a cathedral veil and a slingback version of a truly iconic pair of wedding heels, the Hangisi pumps by Manolo Blahnik. Her bridesmaids looked incredible in satin blue bridesmaids dresses. Michael ooze suaveness in his timeless black tux while the groomsmen wore navy suits and light blue ties.

Their flower girl was like a princess in her A-line dress which had a statement bow and she even wore Mary Jane shoes with pearl straps. How stylish! As for their page boy, he was a truly dapper little gent in his navy suit and he also wore a cute navy polka dot tie.

They exchanged vows in a sun-kissed garden ceremony by a stunning waterfall fixture. One of the most magical moments in their ceremony came courtesy of Keia’s dad as he sang a song for them. They held their reception in the imposing ballroom, The Wisteria Room, which was a marvellous backdrop to their celebrations.

Wonderfully bright, the room boasts 14-foot ceilings and lavish accents including towering mirrors and a sparkling chandelier. Keia and Michael opted for a sweetheart table and above it hung a majestic flower cloud with baby’s breath, pampas grass and lush foliage.

They highlighted their most memorable moments from their wedding day, and they’ll have you swooning. “Sharing our very first kiss as a couple and celebrating with our family who came in from all over the world.”

For the couple, their big day was made so special by sharing it with their nearest and dearest. “Being able to celebrate with three of our grandmothers was so important, as one of them passed shortly after the wedding.”

The perfect weather was another winner element! We wonder if they had the Child of Prague in the garden the night before? Their signage had a minimalistic feel.

From romantic ballads to upbeat tracks, there are actually so many wonderful first dance songs to choose from. Keia and Michael chose Differences by Ginuwine for their first dance as husband and wife. Serious fun was had on the dancefloor. We just adore the something blue accents throughout the incredibly chic wedding. The styling of the main table included blue taper candles while beautiful arrangements of flowers bookended the couple raised on chic white pillars.

One tier wedding cakes may be humble in size but they’re mighty on style, as Keia and Michael’s big day proves in spades. They opted for a sleek tier cake which was given an ethereal edge as it was surrounded by a swoop of baby’s breath.

As for advice for couples who are planning their special day, they say, “Try to plan as much in advance as possible, delegate tasks to your closest circle, and enjoy the process.” The couple soaked up the joys of newlywed life by jetting off to Costa Rice for their honeymoon and they loved it!
