A Wildflower Virginia Park Lodge Wedding: Erika & Terence

A Wildflower Virginia Park Lodge Wedding: Erika & Terence

We’re just going to come right out and say it, the style in this summer real wedding is off the charts chic. 180 guests joined Erika and Terence tied the knot at the wonderfully romantic Virginia Park Lodge in Co. Cavan and all we kept saying as we were looking at the fabulous pictures by Pawel Bebenca was “wow, wow, wow”. Erika’s cool-girl bridal wardrobe included a pearl-dappled gown matched with statement ruffle sleeves (and she enchanted guests with her ruffled reception gown) and the bridesmaids were so pretty in tonal pink dresses. With a wildflower theme and a “light and airy aesthetic” sweet pastel blooms reigned supreme. With a gently rustic reception, there was everything from spots of golf on the lawn to a fairytale wedding cake meadow. The celebrations ramped up on the dancefloor where neon party accessories were passed around and the couple enjoyed the most dazzling sparkler moment surrounded by their loved ones. You won’t want to miss this incredible wedding, so let’s get going.

Let’s begin by getting to know our US newlyweds more. Erika is from New Milford Connecticut and Terence is from Middletown, New Jersey. They tell us how they met, “We originally met online and then setup our first date not too long later in New York City. We hit it off right away and quickly found out that we had a lot in common, from Erika spending her summers in same beach towns in New Jersey where Terence grew up to Terence playing football with Erika’s brother-in-law’s brother in college.”

Terence was a true romantic when it came to popping the question. “The proposal was sweet and intimate! After a few months of organising the ring with Erika’s sisters and mom, Terence proposed on on of their summer morning coffee drives at a little lake near Erika’s hometown in Connecticut.” When it came to their wedding day, their guests were their top priority.

“As long as our guests are enjoying each others company, have good food and drink to fill up on and plenty of music to dance to, we would be over the moon! It would all be worth it if everyone who travelled both near and far to celebrate with us enjoyed their week!” They fell head over heels for the beauty of Virginia Park Lodge and the wonderful hospitality. “We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue!”

The couple imagined a “light and airy” wedding aesthetic with wildflower vibes with pastel blooms shining bright. “So much of the day was spent outdoors, from the ceremony to cocktail hour, to dinner intermissions and breaks, we were so lucky with the beautiful weather and even more stunning venue! We wanted to keep it whimsical but definitely loved how much of a garden feel it all had!”

Erika looked absolutely sensational on her wedding day wearing a strapless, pearl-strewn gown which she accessorised with statement detachable sleeves with ruffled edges. She accessorised with crystal drop earrings, a floral hair clip, a sparkling tennis bracelet, a dainty pearl necklace and pleat bow bridal heels. Her bridesmaids absolutely knocked mix and match dressing out of the park in shades and prints of soft pink.

Even Erika’s niece Nora who was the flower girl got in the gorgeous girly and glam colour theme. Erika’s bouquet by Your Bloom which burst with colour with orange ranunculus, bright pink carnations, daisies and more. The couple tied the knot in an absolutely dreamy garden ceremony and Terence was the most debonair groom in his slick black tux.

There family and friends made their ceremony so unforgettable. Erika reflects, “Our officiant was my uncle, who is from Kildare and he did such a lovely job we were so excited and it was so special to have him marry us! I loved that we had some really lovely speeches and readings from our closest relatives, especially remembering those who couldn’t be with us that day.”

“The speeches were truly what took my breath away as I had not heard them before and knowing how much courage it takes to get up in front of all those people to share and our family did that for us, was just wonderful.”

She adds, “I loved the Irish blessings and the poems that we had shared during our ceremony. I also loved the song we walked down to, it was a violin version of Human by the Killers. My husband and I love that song!”

Their reception was a gently rustic affair as delicate displays of flowers in watercolour shades were dotted into glass vases and burnt orange tablerunners were included in the styling. A lush foliage and white floral display hung above the main table and sparkling fairy lights only added to the wow-worthiness of the space.

The couple shared their first dance to Harvest Moon (Lord Huran Remix) by Neil Young. We were curious what their advice would be for couples prepping to tying the knot. “Try to have fun and enjoy it as and the process as much as you can, it can be overwhelming and stressful but at the end of the day it will all be worth it!”

Bride and groom walk in garden during Virginia Park Lodge wedding

The charming and unique countryside venue is loaded with picturesque spaces to roam after exchanging vows. The couple took full advantage of the magical setting and they even enjoyed a spot of golf on the lawn!

The couple jumped on an incredibly beautiful wedding cake trend. They opted for a wedding cake meadow with their classic three-tier cake surrounded by pretty pastel blooms. Afterwards, the bride dazzled their guests by changing into a second stunning wedding dress, a languid gown with romantic ruffles.

Erika and Terence’s wedding night was truly a dazzling affair and one of the most magical moments was their sparkler photo. Simply magical. For their honeymoon they jetted off to London and they had a ball.

A very special thank you to our lovely couple and Pawel Bebenca for sharing this incredibly stylish Virginia Park Lodge wedding with One Fab Day! See even more pictures in the gallery below.
