Irish Milliner Jennifer Wrynne’s Lough Rynn Castle Wedding

It’s always such a treat when someone who works within the wedding industry allows us to share their special day, and One Fab Day readers and (stylish wedding guests!) will no doubt recognise today’s stunning bride Jennifer. Jennifer is the award-winning hat designer and fashion blogger behind Jennifer Wrynne. She tied the knot to her childhood sweetheart Colm in a lavish summer celebration at Lough Rynn Castle surrounded by 303 lucky wedding guests.

Jennifer’s passion for design and style stemmed from a bond with her mother that they developed when she was younger, designing and sewing dresses for special occasions, so it was only natural for the stylish bride’s day to be filled with bespoke designs and stylish fashion finds, including handmade flower girl dresses made by Mum Mary. If you’re looking for classic, elegant and stylish wedding inspo, it doesn’t get more timeless than this wedding! From the tasteful black-and-white fashion to the fireworks finale, every little detail was worth remembering. Jenny McCarthy of Photos by Jen captured all the magical events from their Lough Rynn Castle wedding, so let’s get started!

Jennifer & Colm both hail from Mohill in Co. Leitrim, and it is where they are both currently based today. The pair have a childhood sweetheart love story as they have known each other all their lives. The bride tells, “Our parents are best friends so we kind of grew up together. We first got together when we were 14. Went our separate ways for a few years and then got together again when we were in our 20s.”

The proposal happened while the couple were on holidays in Dubai. Jennifer fills us in, “I kind of thought it might happen there but we had been there for a few days and it didn’t happen straight
away so I kind of forgot about it. On the 4th day, he very casually told me he had a gift for me when we were on the beach. I opened it up and nearly died! The engagement itself wasn’t a huge surprise but the fact he had gone and gotten the ring floored me! I always told him never to do that, but he did and he chose the perfect ring!”.

Once the planning got underway, the pair had some simple but important priorities from the very beginning. Jennifer says, “That our guests would have a blast! I wanted it to be fun, upbeat, full of music and dancing and that’s exactly what happened. Our faces were sore from smiling!”.

Jennifer wowed us with her utterly fabulous wedding day look. Her off-shoulder, embellished ballgown-style dress is a custom creation by Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad who also designed the matching veil. Jennifer sourced the designer at The Wedding Club in London.

She completed her timeless wedding day look with off-white classic court Jimmy Choo’s, a green emerald ring gifted to her by Colm when her son Alexander was born, and a bracelet from Tiffany & Co. “The box was blue so it was my ‘Something Blue’ given to me by my sister on the morning of the wedding.”

The three bridesmaids all rocked custom off-shoulder pink Phoenix V dresses with blush court heels which were a stylish Zara find.

The couple’s 2-year-old twin girls Amber & Isabella had very important flower girl duties on the day and they looked darling doing so in sweet dresses handmade by the bride’s mum Mary Wrynne.

Their 4-year-old little boy Alexander also had a very important role as page boy! He looked oh-so-cute in an adorable black tie suit from Next.

Colm looked equally dapper in his black tie ensemble from EJ Menswear in Sligo. His wedding day look was completed by a OMEGA Seamaster watch which was gift from Jennifer on the morning of the wedding. In another sweet touch, Colm’s wedding band was his late dads who sadly passed away when he was 7 years old.

“Floral, romantic & magical”, are the words the bride uses to decribe their day and judging from these images, we couldn’t agree more!

Jennifer shares more about the look and feel, “I wore an off white gown and the bridesmaids wore pink so I wanted to stick with the cream and pink theme throughout. Our twin girls also wore off-white dresses with pink bows too. Colm’s Mum and my brother’s girlfriend wore baby pink too but that was totally by chance but looked really fab when it all came together!”.

The ceremony took place at St Patrick’s Church in the couple’s hometown of Mohill, Co. Leitrim.

La Belle Fleur Florists were on floral duties and created an array of romantic floral designs throughout the day including dreamy ceremony florals and a beautiful deconstrcted floral arch which adorned the church doors.

It didn’t take much for the couple to fall in love with their venue Lough Rynn Castle as the pair have been going there for years. Infact, they didn’t even consider any other venue! “We are so lucky to live near Lough Rynn Castle. To us, it is magic. It’s such a beautiful venue. We’ve had so many special occasions there from our children’s christening parties, family reunions, weddings etc. We celebrate every occasion there so it was a no brainer. We knew from the get go, it was the one. We didn’t look at one other venue!”.

As well as choosing a venue with lots of meaning for them both, the bride shares more special and personal details from the day. “Our church wedding entrance song was In A Country Churchyard sung by Tommy Fleming. This was also my Mum and dad’s wedding entrance song 43 years ago! Alexander, our little boy was the page boy. He carried the rings up the aisle to Colm. I made a cushion for the rings from leftover lace from his Christening gown which was really special. My Mum made the twins dresses which was again another lovely thing – She has made dresses for all special occasions over the years for myself and my sister so it was lovely for the twins to get something so special.”

The bride adds, “My Mum’s wedding speech really pinched me. I’m not a crier, in fact, I never cry but it really got me. Her words were so lovely – She didn’t leave one stone unturned.”

Within the regal reception space, romantic floral arrangements burst to life. Tall centrepieces adorned the elegant table settings with a focus on complimentary pinks and pastels.

From the interactive Tropical Storm trio at cocktail hour, surprise singing waiters during the meal, and the Bentley Boys keeping the dancefloor full all night long to the fireworks ending the night on a high, guests were truly spoiled with lots of great entertainment throughout the reception.

And the party didn’t stop there either! The couple joined their guests for a Day 2 celebration which featured a surprise set from Mundy & Sharon Shannon.

Jennifer has this advice for couples planning their day: “Enjoy every single minute of it! It truly goes by so quickly. Even in the moment – I kept asking for time to slow down ! It was just amazing but went so fast.”

The couple are yet to go on honeymoon, but are planning to jet off to Italy soon.

A huge Thank You to Jennifer & Colm for sharing their breathtaking Lough Rynn Castle wedding with us, and to Jenny McCarthy of Photos by Jen for providing the beautiful imagery! There are even more photographs to swoon over in the gallery below.
