Linda and David’s Nature-Inspired Wedding

Linda and David’s Nature-Inspired Wedding

Today we’re bringing you a city real wedding that’s stylish, elegant and intimate from the lovely Linda and David. With hues of lilac purples and earthy greens, as well as a huge tree created from florals, this wedding is a great example of how you can bring all the beauty of nature to a wedding in an urban setting! Captured by the very talented Nina Val Photography, we absolutely love this nature-themed wedding and we think you will too. We particularly enjoyed seeing the couple’s teenage daughters in their bridesmaids finery! So let’s dive in!

Bride and groom during nature-themed wedding

So first and foremost, we had to ask the couple how they met because we just love a good love story! Linda tells us that the pair met, “25 years ago in a nightclub in Howth called Good Time Charles, and we haven’t been without each other since!” The couple live together in their home in Lusk in county Dublin with their two daughters Mia and Ruby, who were Linda’s bridesmaids on the day!

Linda’s gorgeous white stilettos were Ted Baker and we loved the matching glamour of the dress with the pearl-detail purse from Rosie and Dott!

Linda’s ring was something sentimental, as she shared with us that her mother couldn’t be there for her big day. “My mam passed away 20 years ago, so obviously not having her there on the day was emotional. I chose to wear her engagement ring instead of a wedding ring, which is very sentimental.”

Linda’s daughters were perfectly stunning alongside their mum! Mia’s dress was from Zara and Ruby’s dress was made by Carla Donnelly designs. The hues of mint green and lilacs make for a dreamy pastel palette!

Linda’s dress was designed and made by Sarah Foy Couture, featuring a gorgeous backless cut-out and fitted, pouf sleeves – truly timeless and elegant!

When it came to the ceremony itself, the couple opted for a civil ceremony, and Linda tells us that her biggest worry was that her guests might not make it due to the pandemic. “Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans, as the original wedding date was June 2020. It was touch and go if we would have all our guests with us on the 25th of June due to restrictions, but thankfully, they were able to travel.”

The newlyweds held their reception in The Dylan Hotel, where they had organised a magnificent piece of floral art. “The reception was in the hotel restaurant, therefore we wanted the table setting to be the focal point. It was vibrant and breathtaking.”

The flowers and styling were by Lisa Thurlow Event Styling, and we’re just blown away by the beauty of it all!

Linda said sharing her day with her loved ones was particularly special as, “due to Covid restrictions, we hadn’t seen some family members who live in the UK for a number of months.”

The couple’s one-tier cake came from Cakes by Karen, and featured gorgeous violet pansies, baby pink roses and dainty and delicious macarons!  Linda tells us that The Dylan Hotel exceeded all their expectations! “We wanted a venue in Dublin, near the registry office and a five-star venue. We wanted to treat our guests to a day out with amazing food and plenty of drink, and the Dylan didn’t disappoint. It ticked all the boxes.”

We asked the couple what advice they would give to couples planning their wedding. They tell us, “Do your thing and try not to be bothered with other people’s opinions. If you don’t want a big wedding, don’t have it, the pandemic has shown us that small weddings are just as nice.”

Thank you so much to the lovely Linda and David for sharing their nature-themed wedding with us and also to Nina Val Photography for sharing these wonderful images. There are more pictures to swoon over in the gallery below!
